Infomation on Mont Blanc

Mont Blanc was Founded by the stationer Claus-Johannes Voss, the banker Alfred Nehemias and the engineer August Eberstein in 1906, the company began as the Simplo Filler Pen company producing up-market pens in the Schanzen district of Hamburg. Their first model was the Rouge Et Noir in 1909 followed in 1910 by the pen that was later to give the company its new name, Mont Blanc. The first pen was a fountain pen called a Mesiterstuck or Masterpiece in English, produced for the first time in 1925.

The brand has changed hands several times, such as Dunhill in 1977 of whom made the brand more luxurious removing the cheaper line pens, and using the brand on further luxury goods such as passport holders, wallets, pen cases, belts, cologne/perfume.

Mont Blanc is part of the Richemont group, an elite group of companies including Cartier, Chloe and Baume et Mercier

Mont Blanc is known for its iconic white stylised six-pointed star with rounded edges, which symbolises the mountain top of the actual mountain Mont Blanc found in the alps.

Mont Blanc have been well known for making special limited edition pens, such as the annual pen to commemorate a famous writer. Mont Blanc also create ranges to remember famous people, notably Mozart.
