The Longines trademark, of the "winged hourglass" was first registered in Switzerland on the 10th May 1880, making it the oldest in the history of watchmaking.
Of course the Company commenced manufacturing watches long before, dating back to 1832 when one of its founders, Augute Agassiz arrived in Saint-Imier, Switzerland.
