Seiko was founded by Kintaro Hattori in 1881...
and has been producing timepieces ever since then. However, it wasn't until 1913 that the Company produced its first wrist watch.
Today, Seiko has a reputation of being at the forefront of wrist watch developement. At the end of the 1960's it produced the world's first quartz watch. In the 1970's, the frist LCD watch - in the 1980's the first TV watch, the first watch with computer functions and then in the 1990's the Kinetic watch.
It goes without saying that Seiko keeps reinventing timepieces and has done so since its beginnings over 120 years ago.
